Furygan Vulcain jacket

Furygan Vulcain jacket

IF you’re a winter motorcyclist then Furygan’s newest textile jacket addition might be worth donning to keep the cold and rain at bay.

furygan_vulcain_3en1__a9rcikseqt5sid7Called the Vulcain, the outer material is a combination of three different grades of polyester. Underneath this is the Furygan Skin Protect lining, which gives extra abrasion resistance and then under that is a second-skin membrane to make the jacket breathable and waterproof.

There is D3O protection in the elbows and shoulder and a D3O-compatible back protector pocket. Look a bit closer and you can see there’s extra protection on the outer shell of the shoulders too.

Inside there’s a removable and padded thermal lining and if you get too warm, there are zips you can undo to open up vents.

Riders can also make use of a waterproof skirt that prevents air from entering at the bottom of the jacket and giving you a chill.

Finally, there are eight pockets – five on the outside and three inside. One of the outside pockets is designed for a credit card and should make fuel stops that bit easier when fumbling at a zip with cold hands. One of the pockets on the inside is a ‘net’ for your mobile phone, kept inside safe from the weather.
