Go Canoeing,British Rowing, the Royal Yachting Association, the British Marine Federation and British Water Ski and Wakeboard are the organisations behind the events and all of them say there has been a significant rise in the number of Brits trying out watersports over the past year – 700,000 more adults in 2013 than in 2012.

Stuart Bithell says the month-long campaign will be giving people across the country the chance to try something new, or simply breathe life back into an old hobby.
