Red Bull X-Alps athletes to carry Powertraveller products

Athletes in the Red Bull X-Alps won't run out of battery power...

PARAGLIDER pilots in the Red Bull X-Alps will be charging up their flight instruments and GPS units using Powertraveller products in next year’s competition.

Pilots carry a number of electrical items which are crucial to helping them fly – a GPS, a variometer (that emits a screech when they’re climbing or descending) and of course their mobile phones and cameras.

Existing Powertraveller ambassador, Squash Falconer, herself a paraglider pilot, will be covering the event and giving the athletes advice on how to use the Powertraveller products because she’s been using them for many years on her own adventures.

“I’m really looking forward to working with Powertraveller to support the partnership with Red Bull X-Alps 2015” she says. “In the run up to the event, I will be interviewing participants and demonstrating the Powertraveller products so they are set for when the race begins.”

Squash will be follow the athletes through the Alps on a BMW R nine T motorcycle, courtesy of Bahnstormer Alton in Hampshire. The bike’s going to be specially customised for it – something we’d like to find a bit more about.
