Arc’teryx to run a Digital Climbing Academy in August

Arc’teryx usually hosts a climbing academy in Squamish each year, but with Coronavirus preventing events like taking place the brand will be running an online academy.

It means people around the world can benefit from the knowledge and advice from some of the best climbers in the world.

Jurgen Watts, Director of Brand Experiences at Arc’teryx said: “This new Digital Climbing Academy and the clinic offerings were all thoughtfully designed to allow participants to develop mountain skills in a safe environment, while also fostering a sense of community during a time when connection has never been more important.”

There will be six online clinics led by Arc’teryx athletes and ambassadors. These are:

Sport Climbing Progression with Alannah Yip

Crack Climbing with Will Stanhope

Alpine Running with Eric Carter

Backcountry Camping with Christine Feleki

Moving Faster in Alpine Terrain with Julia Niles

Backcountry Cooking and Cocktails with Paul McSorley

The Digital Climbing Academy will take place from August 24th to 28th with each clinic costing $45. Each will be available online for three months afterwards so you can dip back in and out.

Clinic registration opens on Monday 24th August.

As well as the clinics, there will also be films and music to watch (for free) along with product giveaways.
