THE Indy 500 celebrates its Centennial in a month’s time on the 29th May 2011. And what better way to draw the crowds than to watch a car speed down a 90 foot ramp connected to a re-creation of a bedroom door that’s 100 feet tall and then soar across the infield of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway to break the World Record-Breaking Distance Jump of 302 feet in a four-wheeled vehicle.
The “IZOD Presents Hot Wheels Fearless at the 500” stunt will bring to life the iconic V-Drop track set boys have played with on their bedroom doors for years (only £19.99 from ToysRus) and is part of an overarching brand campaign designed to extend the Hot Wheels experience past childhood. In short, they want grown ups to re-visit their childhood days.
Sport Abroad is offering travel packages to watch this year’s Indianapolis 500 and the Hot Wheels Attempt from £410 pp (27th-30th May 2011). This price includes 3-nights accommodation at the 4* Hyatt Regency, Official Indianapolis 500 event programme, Driver’s Meeting Invitation and admission to the Tower Terrace Stand (on the main straight).
