Cycling at Zafiro Palace Alcúdia in Mallorca

The gateway to Mallorca’s most breath-taking cycling routes

If you’re already mourning the loss of the summer then maybe consider booking a cycling trip to Mallorca next spring to give yourself something to look forward to.

There’s a fantastic five-star hotel there called the Zafiro Palace Hotel Alcúdia which has a dedicated cycling station with bike storage, rental (electric and manual), a specialist shop, mechanical workshop and organised cycling tours.

The best months for cycling in Mallorca are in the spring as temperatures reach the high teens so it isn’t baking hot. The well-kept roads and mix of flat and mountainous routes will keep you pedalling hard and you can ride along the coast to the 17th century town of Pollença or even up to the highest points at Cap de Formentor.

The Zafiro Hotel group is passionate about fitness and cycling and even sponsor of the island’s bi-annual triathlon as well as The Iron Man.

The hotel also has its own multisport court, fitness centre and volleyball pitches, aqua gym and putting green.

There is some seriously good food on offer too – with fine-dining experiences that are exclusive to the hotel including four à la carte restaurants and one buffet restaurant.

And to sooth tired muscles is the Zen, Body & Mind spa. There’s an indoor heated swimming pool, Jacuzzi, sauna as well as two treatment and massage rooms – just what you’ll need after a day of cycling on those sun-kissed roads.

Rates at Zafiro Palace Hotel Alcúdia start from £160 for a Junior Suite. It might just be the perfect treat to yourself after cycling throughout the winter months here in the UK…
