Crow Park is an idyllic setting for the festival

We went to the Keswick Mountain Festival (KMF) last year and had an absolute blast of a time.

It’s set in Crow Park just on the edge of Keswick and overlooks Derwent Water giving an absolutely beautiful backdrop for visitors.

Adventure 52’s editor Dan Tye entered the 25km trail run, went canoeing, wandered around the many stalls and food trucks, listened to amazing live music from a huge stage set next to the shoreline. There was even a pair of Gliders flying aerobatics and leaving smoke trails in the sky.

The festival is well signposted from the town

If there wasn’t already enough of a reason to go to KMF in May, you will be able to test drive the new Defender across a challenging off-road course as Land Rover has become a title partner for this year’s event.

Anthony Bradbury, Jaguar Land Rover UK Marketing Director said: “We are delighted to be title partner of the Keswick Mountain Festival; it really is the perfect fit and the best representation of our mantra – Above and Beyond. Our first year will coincide with the launch of the new Defender; our Icon re-imagined for the 21st Century, and we are looking forward to getting involved with all the activities throughout the weekend.”

Stage settings don’t get any better than this

The festival is free to enter during the day but you’ll need to buy a ticket for the Friday and Saturday evenings. Among those appearing on the main stage in Crow Park at the 2020 Keswick Mountain Festival will be Space, Holy Moly & The Crackers, SWJ Group, Huey Morgan, and award-winning filmmaker Terry Abraham with a screening of ‘Life of a Mountain: Helvellyn’.

For every ticket sold for Friday night at KMF, £1 will be donated to charity, with the money raised to be split between the National Trust, Friends of the Lake District and MIND.

Nicola Meadley, the Festival Director says: “We’re very excited about both the live entertainment and the fact that Land Rover will be such a big part of the festival this year. Once again, we’re proud to be able to give a showcase to Cumbrian acts alongside international stars and the screening of Life of a Mountain: Helvellyn will be a great way to continue that theme. Terry Abraham’s films have become firm favourites with lovers of the Lakes and this conclusion to his trilogy is set to be the most spectacular yet. And of course, Land Rover is the perfect brand to partner with us in delivering these very special occasions.
