Adidas Terrex has been shouting louder in the trail running market over the past year.
The brand is on a wave of innovation, so here’s a new pair of trail running shoes that uses BOA’s Fit System and a new PerFormFit Wrap.
They’re called the adidas Terrex Agravic Pro BOA and come in a mens and womens version. Now these won’t be available until May so this is a very early look at them.
You might remember the BOA Fit System that we tried on the La Sportiva Cyklon trainers last year, and these adidas Terrex Agravic Pro BOA have the same L6 dial, TX4 lace and TX Form Guides (the bits the laces pass through). But new for the Agravic Pro is a newly introduced PerformFitTM Wrap which is something that BOA has designed to give a precise and locked-in fit (see images below).
It works in harmony with the BOA Fit System and is ‘scientifically proven to increase running efficiency and reduce landing impact through technical trails and steep descents thanks to a better connection between the foot and the outsole’. In simple terms, it supports the heel and the midfoot, leaving the toes to move freely. You can watch how it all works in this graphic below.
The midsole is made from a bio-based thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) plate made out of 90 % renewable carbon and the outsole is Continental Rubber with deep lugs. The sock construction prevents debris from entering the shoe.
As we mentioned, these will go on sale in May, priced at £170 and available in black or green for both men and women (with subtle colour differences).
