For those who want a 'smarter-looking' adventure smartwatch

New Garmin Instinct Crossover is a neat blend of analogue & digital

This is the new Instinct Crossover – a rugged hybrid smartwatch that you can wear with day-to-day outfits as well as out on hikes.

We’ve already seen an updated Instinct 2 Solar this year and the Instinct Crossover is similar in functionality but is  effectively much smarter-looking and has traditional hour and minute hands that move.

Those analogue hour and minutes hands have luminescent highlights on them, and behind is the smartwatch display. The hands quickly move to the 9 and 3 o’clock positions when you want to see more of the digital display.

“We created Instinct Crossover for active lifestyle individuals who prefer the look of a traditional watch but who are ready to tap into the functionality of a modern smartwatch,” said Dan Bartel, Garmin vice-president of global consumer sales. “By eliminating the need to compromise between tradition and technology, the Instinct Crossover reimagines and redefines the modern adventure smartwatch.”

The Crossover has all of Garmin’s fitness tracking features and well-being monitoring and is also available in a Solar variant with up to 60 days battery life.

The Instinct Crossover is thermal and shock resistant too, built to MIL-STD-810, and water-rated to 10 ATM.

And Garmin’s new RevoDrive technology means that if there’s a significant impact to the watch during an adventure, RevoDrive carries out autocalibration to keep the time precise.

The suggested retail price begins at £479.99. To find out more visit garmin.com/outdoor
